The mascot of Casa Sean is a special element that represents the welcoming spirit and soul of this countryside retreat.

The Name: Seamus

"Seamus" (pronounced "Shee-mus") is the Irish equivalent of the name Sean — both derived from the Hebrew Yohanan (John). It's a subtle, clever, and affectionate tribute to the owner, Sean Taaffe, and his Irish heritage, creating a natural link between Ireland and the orange groves of Silves. Guests who know the origin of the name will smile; those who don't will simply adore it

The Story of Seamus

"Legend has it in Fonte de Louseiros that when Sean arrived from Ireland and fell in love with this piece of land in Silves, a small orange tree decided to reciprocate the affection. It took deep root in the Algarve soil, but adopted the hospitable Irish soul. Thus was born Seamus — the guardian of Casa Sean. With its ever-open branches, its sweet oranges, and its smile carved into its bark, Seamus is always waiting for guests. By day, it loves to listen to the birds chirping; by night, it is the best companion for gazing at the stars in the clear countryside sky."
